The Molefe family relocated from Orange Farm to Thembelihle in 2013, and their household now consists of 13 individuals. They rely on piece jobs that the older children manage to secure, as well as the child support grants that the grandchildren receive monthly.

Mbali, the mother of Kagiso and Thabiso, both of whom are living with a Chronic Illness ensures that they adhere to their medication carefully, thanks to the support and supervision they receive. One of the major challenges the Molefe family faced was the transportation difficulties when trying to access their medication. Prior to our intervention, Kagiso and Thabiso had to travel to Baragwanath Hospital for check-ups, which was financially straining. We helped them switch to the local Thembelihle clinic, making the process easier and more affordable.

The grandmother shared that she had previously received support from Khaya Le Themba to take her grandchildren to Baragwanath for their medical check-ups. Now, with the clinic located much closer, it’s easier for her to ensure they receive the care they need.

Kagiso was enrolled in our Early Childhood Development (ECD) program, and we assisted him with Grade 1 enrollment at the local Olifantsvlei Primary School. Additionally, Mount Olive Outreach has provided the Molefe family with ongoing support, including Medication adherence, food parcels, food security, and psychosocial support.

Since we began assisting the family, we have made sure that Kagiso’s transition into school is smooth. We’ve ensured that he has school uniforms, stationery, and the daily meals he needs to succeed. Furthermore, we’ve worked to ensure that he continues to adhere to his medication.

Thanks to the unwavering support of our donors, we are thrilled to have played a role in giving Kagiso a healthy and bright future.
