Meet Nqobile Khoza, a 20-year-old who lives with her father, aunt, and four siblings. Life hasn’t been easy for Nqobile, but her strength and resilience are inspiring. In 2022, she joined the Mount Olive Outreach Young Life Program while in Grade 10, and today, we are so proud to say that Nqobile has graduated from iBhongo High School with a Diploma.

Since joining the program, Nqobile has shared how much it has helped her navigate the challenges many young people face today—like peer pressure, youth unemployment, HIV awareness, and teen pregnancy in her community. The lessons she’s learned have empowered her to approach life with a new perspective. One of the most valuable lessons has been around financial management, making Nqobile feel more confident and prepared for the future.

But the program didn’t just teach Nqobile practical skills—it also helped her discover her true passions. Nqobile found a love for modeling, singing, and dancing, and she is excited to keep nurturing these talents as she moves forward in life. These creative outlets have given her a new sense of purpose and joy.

Now that Nqobile has completed school, she’s taken the next step by enrolling in our Youth Skills Development Program. She’s eager to gain the skills that will open doors for her, whether she decides to continue her education or jump into the workforce. Nqobile is determined to create a bright future for herself, and we’re here to support her every step of the way.

One thing Nqobile has emphasized is the importance of career guidance for students, especially for those finishing high school. She believes many students don’t leave school with a clear idea of their career options, which can make the transition to life after school overwhelming. Nqobile’s suggestion is to provide more opportunities for career exploration in schools so that young people can make informed choices about their futures and understand the many paths available to them.

Through it all, Nqobile and her family have received support from Khaya LeThemba, with food parcels and clothing when they needed it most. Thanks to your generous support, we will continue to make a real difference in their lives.
